Civil Justice bridges the gap in services between those who do not qualify for or cannot be assisted by traditional legal services organizations (LSOs) and those who cannot afford the hourly fees typically charged by lawyers. CJ’s Lawyer Referral Service provides Marylanders free referrals to our statewide network of attorneys, who cover the full range of civil legal matters, as well as traffic and criminal issues.
In-house services are currently focused on foreclosure and economic justice matters. Foreclosure services are available statewide. Services for the Economic Justice Program are focused on Baltimore City families.
