Description/Duties

Staff Attorney (Family Law), CLAS Project (Collateral Legal Assistance for Survivors)

This is a full-time litigation position within our pro bono CLAS Project, which primarily represents survivors of domestic violence in custody and divorce cases in Baltimore and surrounding counties. Our attorneys also offer representation in Title IX cases at local universities.

Our highly-collaborative team members have different strengths, experiences, and backgrounds, but all share a fierce passion for improving people’s lives. We believe our differences are our strength, whether they be race and gender identity, age, disability status, sexual orientation, religion, or any other aspect of identity.

Skills/Qualifications

Internships

The Women’s Law Center offers internships for law school students throughout the year. Interns work in our domestic violence projects, such as POARP and MEDOVI, and in our administrative office depending on the needs of the organization. Interns are expected to commit to 15 hours per week. Please call to check the availability of internship opportunities. Unfortunately, due to limited resources, funding is not available for these internships. However, the hours can be flexible and part-time applicants are encouraged to apply.

If you would like to apply for an internship, please submit your resume and cover letter (detailing your interest in interning with WLC and the specific project you would like to intern with) to admin@wlcmd.org.

Compensation

Full Time, Exempt, grant-funded; Salary: $77,250
