Mid-Shore Pro Bono, Inc. (MSPB) is a Maryland nonprofit connecting Eastern Shore individuals and families in need of legal representation with volunteer attorneys to ensure that justice truly is for all.  Our mission is to connect individuals and families in need of civil legal help with volunteer attorneys and community resources. Our vision is that all people are empowered to resolve civil legal issues. MSPB connects over 3,000 clients on the Eastern Shore of Maryland with legal representation every year and provides these services through its in-house legal team and active network of volunteer attorneys. MSPB is based in Easton, Maryland and has a satellite office located in Salisbury.  

Job Summary: MSPB seeks a personable, compassionate, and energetic bilingual intake and outreach coordinator to be the first point of contact for Lower Shore clients seeking legal assistance. This individual will work closely with a diverse client base and will lead a comprehensive intake process and income screening for potential clients, manage, track, and record information, spot legal issues and support clients in accessing and navigating the legal system. The bilingual intake and outreach coordinator provides community education and information about legal services and represents Mid-Shore Pro Bono at community events. This position reports to the Senior Paralegal/Lower Shore Manager and is based in the Salisbury office. This is a full-time position offering a salary range of $44,625-$47,250 per year. Job Responsibilities:  

Answer, manage, and direct clients calling for legal assistance. 

Interview clients to understand their legal issue, conduct financial screening, and refer clients to related resources when appropriate.  

Manage entry of client information into Legal Trak case management system, collect and digitize documents and paperwork associated with cases. 

Proactively cultivate community partnerships and relationships with stakeholders. 

Provide community education and information about legal services and how to access assistance.  

Support delivery of legal services as needed. 

Skills/Qualifications

Demonstrated commitment to social justice.

Firsthand experience navigating community resources or working with people who need and utilize community resources preferred. Proficiency and fluency in Spanish and/or Haitian Creole strongly preferred.

Excellent administrative skills and ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks under minimal supervision in an effective and efficient manner. Impeccable interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and on a team.

Ability to respond quickly and produce quality work in the face of high volume of client calls.

Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel, and Teams) and/or case management or database systems a plus.

Associates or advanced degree or 2-3 years of experience with a nonprofit or small business preferred.

Selected candidate must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated including boosters as appropriate by first day of employment with MSPB.
