Maryland Legal Services Corporation seeks an Office Assistant to perform office and administrative duties for a small nonprofit organization. The Office Assistant will be the first point of contact for individuals contacting the organization. This position reports to the Executive Director with oversight by other staff as related to specific duties. This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 9 am – 5 pm.
Responsibilities/Duties: Serve as organization receptionist, answering phones and staffing front desk. Monitor Interest on Lawyer Trust Account (IOLTA) voicemail and respond to IOLTA inquiries from attorneys. Serve as back-up for IOLTA database entry as needed. Prepare materials for board meetings. Order supplies and coordinate with some office vendors. Retrieve and sort mail and packages. Ensure office common areas are tidy and water plants. Perform filing and other administrative support duties. Assist with preparation for and administration of annual awards event. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills: Ideal candidate will have administrative experience, good organizational skills and a pleasant demeanor. Position requires excellent customer service skills, general computer skills, attention to detail and dependability.
Salary/Benefits: $30,000 – $40,000 salary depending on experience and skills, plus generous benefits package including health, dental, long-term disability, retirement plan and company-paid parking/transit allowance.
