Maryland Access to Justice Commission - The Maryland Judiciary recently created the Maryland Access to Justice Commission to make and implement recommendations to expand access to the state’s civil justice system. The Commission hopes to enhance the quality of justice in civil legal matters for persons who encounter barriers when dealing with the courts or trying to solve a legal problem.

Maryland Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission - The Maryland Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission's website discusses the Commission's vision, committees, members, and rules, as it seeks to expand alternative methods of resolving disputes throughout Maryland's communities, government agencies, courts, businesses, and schools.

Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations - Maryland Nonprofits offers a full range of services designed to help all nonprofits more effectively serve the community.

MDJustice.org - This site is designed as a forum for Maryland lawyers and advocates serving the poor. The mission of the site sponsors is to provide a platform for increased collaboration, coordination and information sharing among the many public interest law advocates in Maryland.

Maryland Judiciary - The Maryland Judiciary page contains a wealth of information about Maryland's court system. It includes contact information for all Maryland judges and clerk's offices, Judiciary Newsletters, job announcements, Opinions of the Courts of Appeals and Special Appeals, family law resources, and links to the web sites of Maryland bar associations.

Maryland State Bar Association - Information about activities of the state's bar association.

People's Law Library - The People's Law Library website provides legal and self-help information on Maryland and federal law affecting low and moderate income people and their families.

National Links

American Bar Association Division for Legal Services - This site contains information about the activities of the ABA in support of legal services to America's low-income population. The site discusses the ABA's efforts in the areas of affordable legal services, IOLTA, lawyer advertising, lawyer malpractice, lawyer referral, legal aid, military legal assistance, prepaid legal services, pro bono, and specialization. It also lists recent developments in the legal services field, upcoming events, and the Division's quarterly magazine.

Brennan Center for Justice at NYU Law School - This site contains information about the Brennan Center's legal services initiative, which is dedicated to ensuring that poor citizens have access to effective, enduring and unrestricted legal assistance in civil cases. The first report in the Access to Justice series features the Maryland Legal Aid Bureau.

Legal Services Corporation - LSC funds 143 legal aid programs around the nation to help poor Americans gain equal access to the judicial system. The Maryland Legal Aid Bureau receives LSC funds.

National Legal Aid & Defender Association - NLADA's website provides information about the organization's civil and defender legal services, member services and benefits, training events, annual conferences, government relations, and latest news. It also lists useful links to external legal services news and information sources.

The National Association of IOLTA Programs and the American Bar Association Commission on IOLTA have teamed up to provide information about IOLTA to the public, lawyers, financial institutions, and anyone interested in increasing access to justice in the United States and Canada.

PSLawNet - The PSLawNet is a free national public interest employment database available to anyone interested in entering or changing careers in the public interest/legal services community. Jobs are categorized by location, practice area, job eligibility, and job type.

Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law - The Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law is a service of the National Clearinghouse for Legal Services. It provides poverty-related case reports, legal hotline technical assistance, research links, discussion forums on various poverty-related topics, and access to the Poverty Law Archives.
